by skilled Maine craftsmen. All the rooms are centered around a 40 foot
length granite lap pool with Jacuzzi, and a tiled steam room which can be used during all
seasons. Central air-conditioning is available during the summer months.

The Ultimate in Luxury
 |
Each room has been individually designed and decorated, incorporating
antiques and collectibles from Europe, the Middle East and South America. The
owners, who previously were innkeepers of the original Beauport Inn in Ogunquit,
will welcome you at the enormous stained-glass front doors which once graced on
old London hotel. Once inside the Great Room, guests can relax in a large
comfortable sitting area, play the piano and enjoy the warmth from a large stone
wood-burning fireplace. |
| The sitting area is framed with English oak floor-to-ceiling wainscoting,
acquired from an old English school house dating back to 1835. The Great Room
also features a sunny dining area overlooking the pool and river. The English
kitchen, is the heart of activity where gourmet breakfasts are prepared for the
guests’ enjoyment. Breakfast and drinks can be enjoyed on a large veranda or
in the screened-in gazebo. |
 |
 |
The floors throughout the Inn are 14-inch wide white pine, inlaid with
Colonial square nails. The owners have enjoyed collecting oriental carpets,
antique copper from Turkey, and vintage Fiesta dinnerware, which are displayed
throughout the house.
Lawrence of Arabia would feel at home in the "hammam", a Turkish
steam room which is offered to all our guests. One enters the steam room through
rustic, rosewood doors originally built for a palace in Taif, Saudi Arabia.
